This paper proposes to prove theveracity of the statement that the offshore
wind modality causes less environmental impact than the onshore one.
After the assessment and measurement of environmental impacts in both
modalities through the Leopold Matrix, the total value of Magnitude of
970 was determined for the offshore wind. In the Importance classification,
22% were classified as High, 50% as Moderate, and 28% as Low. In the
Significance rating 50% were classified as Large, 22% as Medium and 28%
as Small. For the onshore wind modality, the total Magnitude value was
1,477. In the Importance classification, 27% were classified as High, 54% as
Moderate, and 19% as Low. In the Significance rating, 58% were rated Large,
23% Medium, and 19% Small. Through these parameters it was confirmed
that the offshore wind modality is less environmentally impacting than the
onshore wind modality.
