Abstract

This research aims to point out alternatives of better environmental
performance for educational institutions based on the principles of industrial
ecology, green infrastructure and bioclimatic architecture. Based on the
Technical Literature Review and field visits, proposals were prepared to
address the needs raised in the systemic diagnosis of the UFSB Sosígenes
Costa campus in Porto Seguro. The aim of this paper is to recommend design
solutions that provide better building energy efficiency by switching from
conventional to cleaner energy sources to reduce campus operating costs,
from natural ventilation systems and architectural solutions developed
from local bioclimatology and environmental comfort parameters focused
on improving learning capacity in teaching environments. Actions were
proposed with the objective of contributing to the reduction of impacts and
costs in educational institutions, making their headquarters into examples
that bring people closer to sustainability.

Master student in Environmental Science and Technology from the Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB, 20172019, in conclusion) with
postgraduate degree in Environmental Urban Planning from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR, 2007), degree in Architecture and
Urbanism from the Federal University of Bahia ( UFBA, 1995); Currently, she holds the position of UFSB Urban Architect in the
Infrastructure Directorate project sector; Experience in Urban and Environmental Planning and researcher on the development of projects
that aim to reduce socio-environmental, cultural and economic impacts and promote quality of life, environmental comfort and sustainable
